CONCRETE PROMENADE

This rather imposing structure is part of the Promenade, just in front of rows of wooden beach huts, on the North side of this well-known and much loved North East Coastal town.

Whitby, North Yorkshire, England.

From my Traces from along the Edge Project, 2003-.

  1. It looks quite creepy with the quality of the light and the emptiness!

  2. I suppose it does, now you mention it. When I took it I was thinking about the composition between the man-made and natural elements within the view finder. There is a light (good) aspect in the foreground (the concrete). Then the brooding darker quality of the beach and sea (bad). So yes perhaps that gives it a creepy quality Jade. Thank you for your comment. Hope you are well.
