BETWEEN A ROCK AND AN HARD PLACE

Silver Birch trees (between a rock and an hard place). The rocks from this area of the Peak District used to be made into mill stones to grind the grain in flour mills.

DARK SKIES

The dark skies in question are over the Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, and the River Steeping where these boats are moored up. Sadly the Visitors Centre was very badly damaged by floods in December 2013. On the East Coast just south of Skegness.

'Y'

In the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, the sun casts a Y shadow of a tree onto the traditional stone wall close to where you cross a stream, and follow the public right of way up to Malham Cove.

FREEZING DAY

In this monochrome photographic print can be seen an Oak Tree. At a place known as 'Burton Bushes' I believe. One of the most coldest day's that I have ever ventured out to take photographs (freezing).

SAND DUNES AT REDCAR

Foot prints in the sand. Mariam grasses in the far distance. The full texture of the sand dunes comes through in this monochrome photographic print. This was one of the locations for the film: 'Atonement.'
