Strange title? Perhaps, but I have always thought of trees as living things. There is plenty of mystery, legend and folklore associated with trees to suggest this. Roots and fallen branches on the woodland floor are depicted in this photograph.

ReplyDeleteThere was an installation at Kew Gardens a while back, where someone had hooked ultra-sensitive microphones up to a large tree and you could listen to what they picked up through headphones. You could hear the water being sucked up; it was almost like a heartbeat. Since I heard that, I've thought of trees differently too.
Thank you both for your comments. I agree with your comments. Sadly it would seem that we has the so-called intelligent life force do not seem to do enough to protect trees. Which ultimately is to our own cost.
