CHURCH AT NIGHT

You will have seen this church depicted in other photographs on this blog. It is reportedly the largest Parish Church in England. Lit by spotlights and street lighting, and reflected in the windows of King William House (an office block, opposite).

Holy Trinity Church, Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire, England.

From no specific project as such, 2004.

  1. Fascinating photo. The lighting gives the church a ghostly effect.

  2. Thank you for your comment. I guess this image does look a little spooky due to the lighting, and the time of day I took the shot.

  4. Thanks Laura. The building the church is reflected in, during daylight as a copper sheen/shine to all it's glass windows. And obviously it is directly opposite this church. Just to add to the ghostly effect. A short distance down the road from here is a gold statue of 'King Billy' on his horse. Legend as it that the artist who did this statue was so overcome with grief that he had missed off his spurs, that he committed suicide. Also legend as it that every now and again King Billy gets off his horse and goes into a nearby pub for a pint. King Billy by the way is 'King William of Orange'.
