Hi Trevor, Thanks for your comments on my blog - you (and a few others) are really encouraging me into experimenting with mono and the effects it can give. I think you're right that digital gives muddier images but I am learning how to use Photoshop and there are some things you can do to improve them, I'm finding. Hope to get better at it. Meantime, I'm enjoying your work as inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny, I am flattered that you should quote my work as an inspiration. Obvioulsy digital is here to stay and yes you can do a lot with and in Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteNo problem with the comments because I admire the fact that you are documenting the place where you live, a very special place so good for you.
I still have all my darkroom equipment. There is nothing like hand printed photos, my preference was to print on fiber.
ReplyDeleteI'll be following your blog and I particularly like this junkyard shot. Sepia suits rusty cars.
Hello Ann,
ReplyDeleteThank you for adding yourself to my blog followers list. I have done the same for you. Totally agree with you, I still print my own prints in my small darkroom. Fibre based photographic paper is very good for toning, if you have the time go back through my blog posts to May. There is an image that I think perfectly fits this technique entitled 'Rust Detail'.
